Brunettes have more fun.

This is only my biased opinion.  I've always been a brunette and I try not to let a day go by without having fun!

Well it's fall (YAY!) and that means it's time to get our wardrobe in check and our hair in shape!  Over the summer my hair had a few highlights and was a shade or two lighter than usual, so I was ready to go a little darker.  If you are a regular reader, then it's no shock that Audrey Hepburn is my style icon.  There must be something special about that name because Audrey Tautou is another one of my faves too. Classic beauty at it's best.  These beautiful ladies were my inspiration for my color choice from Clairol Professional ‘Classic Collection’. I wanted something rich, like dark chocolate, so I chose the Classic Coffee Brown.

Let's be honest, we would all love to have our hair done and be treated at a salon, but it's not always in the budget.  I tend to go to a salon, maybe twice a year, but when my roots are screaming for attention, I just do a little DIY at home!  I really liked the Clairol Professional ‘Classic Collection’ because it gave me the color I would of expected in a salon, but much easier on your wallet.

Even if you are new to dying your hair at home, Clairol Professional ‘Classic Collection' makes it super easy.  I just laid out a piece of foil to help eliminate spillage, grabbed a disposable bowl, plastic spoon, rubber gloves and mixed away.  Be sure to mix both the color and the developer well until it becomes more thick in consistency. Since this isn't my first rodeo, I didn't use a tint brush, but I would recommend it, it can get a bit messy, if you don't.  Be sure to cover all your hair and wipe off your skin as you go to avoid staining.  I had a few spots, but once I rinsed my hair out, they came right off.

I'm so happy with how it turned out!  It's exactly what I wanted, so stay tuned, "after" pics to come!
Eat your heart out Audrey(s)!

3.1 Phillip Lim x Target GIVEAWAY!

It was here, 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target. I stepped in line with my pumpkin spice latte in hand at 7:30 yesterday morning, oblivious to the fact that style obsessed shoppers can be brutal! The doors opened quietly, we filed in and then the madness begun. Screaming, grabbing, pushing and shoving! Downright, cray cray. (a term I never use but felt it was appropriate in this case) But I managed to hold my own and grab my loot, with couple extra (SOLD OUT) pieces to share with you!
GOOD LUCK!

This week's Pinspiration

glitter + cat eye + affirmations + color = true love.

I had big goals this week, one of them being new posts, but instead it seems like I'm still playing catch up. My assistant is typing her fingers to the bone (so grateful for her!), I'm juggling a new health routine (details to come), keeping up with NYFW and trying to balance a HUGE exciting new project that I can't wait to share!

{hint: sometimes the stars align and beautiful music plays...}

Have a wonderful Wednesday, see you soon and remember that laugh! It's good for the soul.

Music keeps my fondest memories alive.

This is probably my most favorite picture ever.  Rewind back to about 1956 as my Grandfather captured this perfect shot of my Grandma Anna teaching my dad what fishing was all about!

My love for vintage style started long ago, but you can see where it probably came from. My closet is full of Grandma's gorgeous old lace dresses, Jackie O sunglasses and a glittered clutch that would give Miu Miu a run for their money. No outfit was complete without her matching shoes, bag, coat and jewelry! She had style, spunk and could shake her hips like no one I knew!

I remember dancing to the golden oldies around the house while my dad never understood how I could remember every single lyric, yet couldn't remember my homework.  Then when I headed to Grandma's for the weekend, she would play The Rat Pack on repeat and we would dance and laugh til' our stomach hurt!
