12 THINGS TO DO EVERY MORNING FOR SUCCESSFUL AT-HOME ENTREPRENEURS

12 things to do every morning for successful entrepreneurs

Spring is in the air so let's start with a little spring mind cleaning.  I've worked for myself for over 18 years and every day is a learning process.  Here are some of my tips I wanted to share that helps make my day productive and successful!

1. WAKE UP EARLY
I have the most energy and clarity in the mornings. I tend to wake up with ideas and can't wait to get crackin'!  Just because your desk is down the hall doesn't mean you still don't have to start work on time. So wake up with the birds and start chirping!

2. START THE DAY BY SMILING
My day is started laying next to a rather large (and cuddly) pooch.  There is nothing I love more than
Lucy and she always puts a smile on my sleepy face.  When you start your day with dog kisses and laughter, you can't go wrong.

3. BREATHE AND STRETCH
Whether yoga is your thing or just taking a minute to breathe deeply and manifest your thoughts into reality.  Be good to yourself and focus on all things positive.

4. TAKE A MORNING STROLL
I'm usually out and about before most alarm clocks are going off and there is nothing better than a quiet walk to start my day.  As cliché as it sounds, stopping to smell the roses never gets old.

5. EAT A PROPER BREAKFAST
This is a work in progress for me.  I tend to focus only on coffee first thing in the morning instead. Protein is your friend and a full belly gives you the energy you need to build your empire, so feed your brain.

6. GET GLAM
Don't get me wrong, some days I work in my pj's, but I'm not as productive as I should be.  Jump in the shower, give yourself a blow-out, put on some lipgloss and your fave outfit.  When you feel better about yourself, you have more confidence to rock the day!

7. PLAN THE DAY
Lists, alarms and schedules are key. As a creative, my brain never turns off and the ideas constantly flow.  It's important to write all your ideas down then prioritize them.  The balance of "creating" and "business" are essential and without them being equal you fail.  If it wasn't for my ah-mazing team and my tight schedules I would be completely lost.

8. SAY HELLO TO SOCIAL MEDIA

Morning tweets, an instagram post of your latte is great, but say hello then move on.  We all know how easy it is to get lost in the black hole of pinterest so scroll around, troll your favorite blogs while sipping your caffeine then get to work!

9. "EAT THAT FROG"
Tackle that big, dreaded task hanging over your head.  Instead of procrastinating, get it over with and free your mind from the anxiety it brings.  I try to eat a few frogs every day.

10. BE CREATIVE
Stimulate your brain and give in to what it is that motivates you and drives you to success.  Step away from the screen in front of you and spend 30 minutes creating something hands-on.  Maybe you end up spending 5 hours in the afternoon finishing the project but just get in touch with something other than your keyboard.

11. WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR

This can be the most important thing you do all morning. I can tell you that when I started to recognize and acknowledge the people, things and experiences I was grateful for, they began to multiply!  Keep a journal and take a moment to really understand the bigger picture. There is so much every moment to be grateful for, and if you really pay close attention, you can see your dreams come true right before your very own eyes. Good things come to those to wait and great things come to those who hustle and appreciate.

12. PLAN LUNCH OUT OF THE HOUSE
Working from home is perfect for me, but having that social time is key.  I like to make my lunches a networking time to plan a meeting or catch up with a friend.  Sometimes these lunches turn into shopping trips or instagram photo shoots and last half a day. But that's the perk of working for yourself, you don't have a boss back at the office to answer to.

Have a happy and successful day! xoxo
