2012: True Resolutions, Let's make it count.

Happy 2012!  It's a new year, so wipe your slate clean and let's start fresh.  Let's take everything we've learned from the past year and focus on only the positive and forget the negative.  Take a deep breath and forgive yourself for any silly mistakes you might have made and embrace the change you want for yourself this year.

Tropicana Trop50 have asked me to be one of their Tropinistas for 2012!  It's all about getting real in the new year, starting with your real resolution.  My resolution is: TO PUT BREE FIRST.

I love to help people and I will continue to do so, but I have vowed to myself that I will make sure any decision I make is based on putting myself first. Making me happy. I'm not planning on turning into a selfish human or anything, just to take a step back and focus on me. It's time to treat myself. Not in a "max out my credit card" kind of way, but little things like shutting off the computer at 5pm instead of 1am or taking in a movie on a weekday afternoon. One result of not putting myself first over the years has also led to being out of shape, both mentally and physically. My stress level for 2011 was beyond high, we're talking severe risk for breakdown, and let me tell you, I had a few. These past few weeks I've been off my feet due to a bad ankle sprain and if it's taught me one thing, it's been not take my body for granted. I've also already started planning and organizing myself better in order to create more of a flow in my life. Changing some work related projects and opening myself up for new opportunities I hope and feel will present themselves to me.
I know this is my year. What do you plan for your year?

My favorite flavor of Trop50 is raspberry lemonade.  You already may be asking if it is just because of the beautiful color...well, at first- yes, I will be honest, the bottle was calling my name!  But it really is de-lish!  So I was inspired by the flavors to show off this gorgeous color palette for spring!

Well, I usually don't do formal resolutions, but in the spirit of the new year, I have renewed my commitment to working on my relationship with my husband. It starts with better understanding my own needs, so I'm working on that too. I figure I have a good chance of keeping up with this one, since I'm pretty crazy about my man!

My resolution is to make my health a number one priority. I am cooking more from scratch instead of taking the easy way out and incorporating more exercise into my day. I am also buying more fruits and vegetables from farmers' markets, trying to stick to local and/or organic produce.
